Children’s Aid Society Matters

When a child is believed to be ‘in need of protection’, there are several possible steps that may be taken. They may be removed from the family home and placed in foster care, placed with other family members or even with family friends.

It is possible the child may remain at home, but the family is required to accept a responsible adult to move in and care for them. Alternatively, the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) may feel that the problem can be addressed through monitoring the
situation and recommending counselling services for the family.
